Saturday 1st July was the official opening day of Hambleton Hills Cattery and a fun open day was held to celebrate this new venture.
There were a number of activities to keep the cat lovers and children entertained including a Hello Kitty bouncy castle, treasure hunt and quiz, outdoor games, refreshments and a raffle.
Donations for the raffle had been kindly donated by local companies including Toft Animal Supplies of Easingwold, Galtres Vets in Flawith and Ancol Pet Products Ltd. Raffle proceeds went to the local Cats Protection League.
There was also a free prize draw to win a three night stay for one cat which was won by Kate from Easingwold.
The open day was a great opportunity for cat owners to look around the new, purpose-built cattery which provides bright, clean, comfortable and safe facilities for cats whilst their owners are away.
The cattery in Flawith, which is just four miles away from Easingwold, is run by Sarah and Geoff Potts.
Sarah says: “We are very proud of the cattery that we have built and we have received lots of very complimentary remarks from our visitors both about the chalets being spacious and nicely furnished and also about the amazing countryside views and convenient location.”
The cattery has 12 standard chalets which take up to two cats from the same household; four of these chalets have interconnecting hatches to accommodate families of three or four cats. There are also two luxury suites soon to be completed – these will not only be larger, but will also boast a TV for watching DVD’s on lazy days and will have bespoke cat trees for climbing and scratching.
Prices for one cat for a day start at £10. Please get in touch to book a viewing. www.hambletonhillscattery.co.uk or find us on Facebook. Telephone 01347 838510 or 07711578333.
